-Cats attending the Gathering from Volcanicclan are as following: Riggedblade, Wolfsong, Birchleaf, Smoothpaw, Meadowbreeze, Talonpaw, and Lotuspaw.
A bit of powerplay will be needed to start this gathering, I hope you don't mind. (:
+Dusk was just approaching as the Volcanicclan cats headed up the steep slope that lead them out of their territory, leaving the smoky ash smell that was home behind. A tabby tom lead the way, Volcanicclan's new leader for nearly two moons now. Since Fadedstar had passes away, the clan was lead by Thornstar, and Volcanicclan had thrived off of not only their territory, but the uninhabited territory of Fallsclan as well. Since Riggedblade had become deputy, Thornstar felt the barrier that had once grown between them fade away. The clan was strong, and they were attending another gathering as usual. "Riggedblade, will you check and see that all the apprentices aren't goofing around back there? I want to appear as though we aren't just a bunch of mousebrains to the rest of the forest." he huffed, turning to glare at Gorsepaw as she rolled past him into a fern. Getting up quickly, the small she-cat's eyes flashed with embarrassment. "Sorry, Thornstar! I'm just excited. I haven't been to a gathering in awhile." She mewed quietly, stalking to the back of the group. Thornstar nodded as the small she-cat padded past him, and the tom turned to face the group of cats that were attending the gathering. "Alright, listen up, Volcanicclan!" he meowed to the group, tail swaying beside him. "We all need to appear as if nothing can touch us. After all, we are Volcanicclan, and everyone knows that that's the greatest clan in all of the forest." he meowed. "Do not let out any secrets of our clan, don't tell anyone any news at all. Got it?" The clan let out a few "Yes."s before they continued down the slope and into Four Stones, where Thornstar took his seat perched on one of the smaller rocks. "Butterflywing," he began as the she-cat padded into the gathering area after him, "How are you? I haven't had a chance to speak with you since I became leader, so I chose you to come to this gathering. I'm sorry." he apologized, tail curling around his paws sheepishly. "If you want, you could just talk to me instead of the other clans? You don't have to, I just often find myself standing alone up here and it's a bit overwhelming." he admitted, scraping at a piece of moss with a long tabby-striped forepaw. "Or you could go on and talk with everyone else when they get here, if you'd prefer." he added, looking up to face her with brilliant green eyes. Waiting for the other clans was going to take a while, mostly because they had arrived early to ensure that the other clans could see that they were well-prepared and on-time.
Meanwhile, Meadowbreeze raced down the slope behind the rest of the clan and up to Birchleaf, who appeared to walking next to Lotuspaw, Talonpaw, and her mate, Riggedblade. "Hi Birchleaf!" The bengal tabby squeaked, tail curling. "Hi Riggedblade, Lotuspaw and Talonpaw! This is your first gathering, isn't it? Aren't you excited?!" she exclaimed, lavender eyes glimmering. "It's so great, wait until the other clans arrive! The cats from each clan are all so different! I think Wiltingclan is rather snooty, and Tropicalclan are rather exciting. I met a warrior from there named Pouncequick, he was rather jumpy and seemed excited about everything." she giggled, tail curling. "It's just too bad that Fallsclan left the territory, I would've liked to see Copperpaw again.." she sighed, ears pinned to her skull. "It's alright though, I'm sure they'll return! They need Starclan, right?"

~ Adderfang, Tearwhisper, Dreamingmask, Raintail, Firestorm, Berrybolt, and Ashenfur will be the TropicalClan cats attending the gathering.
The group of TropicalClan cats moved swiftly through the territory as if they had a great purpose, never pausing for a rest or messing around. It had rained earlier on, and some of the warriors' pelts glistened with tiny water droplets that had fallen from the leaves as they emerged from TropicalClan's thick foliage and across their border, and onto the slope that led to Four Stones. They traveled in a well organized line; Translucentstar took up the lead with Adderfang by her side, and the rest of the patrol followed closely behind them in two's; even the younger cats were behaving properly, at least for now. They knew that their leader did not want to be embarrassed in any way by her clan during the gathering, as there were most likely going to be important matters in discussion between clans, and Translucentstar wanted to be taken seriously - the she-cat was always very tense during gatherings. Though she never really seem paranoid, her light-violet eyes always scanned around the clearing, making a mental note where every one of the TropicalClan cats were in case there was a fight, or even worse, a Silenced Echoes attack. It was always so unpredictable.
Finally pausing near the clearing where Four Stones rested, Translucentstar glanced back to make sure everyone was accounted for and organized, before giving her clanmates a nod. With a simple flick of her tail, the she-cat padded down into the clearing almost regally, head held high and eyes narrowed. "Keep an eye on everyone." The tortoiseshell mewed quietly to Adderfang as the rest of the patrol broke up and went off to visit with the other clans. Glad that TropicalClan was only the second to arrive, Translucentstar turned away from the deputy dismissively and bounded off toward Thornstar. She chose one of the higher rocks, leaping gracefully onto it and seating herself. "Hello, Thornstar. I suppose you and your clan are doing well, what with the extra prey from FallsClan territory." The she-cat said very curtly, not really bothering to look in the tabby tom's direction.

ooc/// Cats attending the gathering from WiltingClan include; Halfstar, Unnamed Deputy, Chancedusk, Wildstreak, Cameostrike, Bluenight, Mosquitobreeze, and Viperpaw
Cold moonlight spilled across the ground, illuminating the path of a small group of cats as they meandered through the brush towards Four Stones. At the head of the group was a dappled silver she-cat, her body pressed close to the ground as she slid to a stop behind the crest of a giant cracked boulder. The glow of the moon danced off her pelt as she tilted her head upward, opening her mouth and letting the cool night air flow across her scent glands as she tasted for other creatures stirring in the night. The scent of many gathered cats wafted past her, and she picked out the individual aromas of VolcanicClan and TropicalClan. But no FallsClan. The tiny flame of hope she had for the lost clan began to dim, and she let out a heavy sigh. It was hard being clan leader, and she could only take a moment to pray for their safe arrival to the gathering. A gathering with only 3 clans was hardly a gathering at all. For a moment she paused, a sudden feeling of anxiety rushing over her. This was her first gathering as leader of WiltingClan; what if the other leaders weren't accepting of her? But as soon as the feeling had come, it passed, and Halfstar rose to her cream-tipped paws, flicking her tail to indicate that it was safe to proceed. As the cats of WiltingClan rose up to flank her, the newly named leader darted forward through the boundary of Four Stones, nodding a silent command to her deputy as she broke off to join the two leaders already assembled. She noted that two of the highest stones had been chosen already, but she was perfectly keen to settle for whatever she could. Pausing for a moment, she bent down, then sprung upward in a graceful arc, landing on silent paws on the opposite side of Thornstar. "Thornstar, Translucentstar." Halfstar nodded curtly to the tom and she-cat in turn. "So, I assume that there has been no sign of FallsClan?"

- I will say that Volcanicclan does not know of Halfstar's leadership yet, yes? Yes.
+The brown tabby tom's ears pricked as the Tropicalclan cats poured into the clearing, their sleek pelts glimmering in the moonlight. Thornstar nodded in greeting to the tortoiseshell she-cat, pale eyes gleaming. "Indeed, Translucentstar. Volcanicclan is thriving well, and we have plenty of prey for everyone in the clan." he meowed confidently, tail curling. "Though I'll have to admit, being leader has definitely not sunk in quite yet. I know I'll get used to it, but there's so much to do all the time. I'm finding myself with less spare time than ever." he meowed to the Tropicalclan leader, whiskers twitching. "Was it ever the same for you, feeling a bit...awkward, I mean." he questioned her, turning to look at her with curious pale green eyes. Keeping his ears pricked for the other clans, Thornstar awaited her reply. Being leader wasn't as tough as it was trying to organize and keep everything together. Being responsible for the whole clan was a tough task, and perhaps the she-cat could provide him with tips. Thornstar's ears pricked and her swung his head around to watch the Wiltingclan cats pour into the clearing. "Halfmoon, where is Vanishingstar? Could she not make it to the gathering?" he asked, curiosity sparkling in his green pools. "And no, Fallsclan continues to remain silent even to Starclan. I spoke with them the other day, but they could not find Fallsclan's path for me." He meowed, tail swaying in dismay.

ooc/// Yep, that is correct Pou
With each word out of Thornstar's maw a feeling of cold dread began to wash over Halfstar, causing the tips of her fur to rise and her tail to swish from side to side uneasily. She was in no mood to break the news of a death to any cat, let alone to the friends and comrades of her former leader. But it was something that had to be done, and something that came with her responsibility as leader of WiltingClan. As she listened intently to the tabby tom's report on FallsClan, she couldn't help but whisper StarClan's name under her breath. Sighing heavily, she nodded to confirm what she'd heard. "It is all we can do to hope and pray that StarClan delivers our fallen comrades to the gathering safely, as it should be." She closed her eyes for a moment, trembling slightly as she attempted to prepare the words for what she had to do next. No cat had respected and looked up to Vanishingstar more than she, and Halfstar taking leadership was no easy business. Each day she missed her leader's guidance, and all she could do was strive to be as great as the she-cat. After her own brief moment of silence, she re-opened her soft green eyes and turned to face the TropicalClan and VolcanicClan leaders. "It is with great sorrow that I must inform you why Vanishingstar is not present," she began, wrapping her glimmering silver tail across her paws, "for it is because she has joined the ranks of StarClan. I have taken leadership of WiltingClan and received my nine lives from StarClan just under a half-moon ago. If you wish I can tell you the story, but I would prefer it if all the clan cats were to hear it as one." A solitary silver tear glimmered in the corner of Halfstar's eye, but she blinked it away, waiting with intense curiousity for the others' reactions.

The brown tabby tom nodded his head in agreement while the cats shared a moment of silence for what seemed for the missing clan. Fallsclan had been missing for a little more than six moons, and though the extra territory was more than enough to feed Thornstar's clan, he was worried for the forest. How could Starclan just allow them to leave? Volcanicclan was possibly, no, undoubtedly, the smallest clan. And even they had remained in the forest, safe from Silenced-Echoes. Had Shroudedstar just not wanted to risk his clan's safety for the stretch of territory that they had once called home? Or was he just afraid; overwhelmed by the duties of leadership? It didn't really matter at this point. Halfstar again broke the silence, but this time Thornstar dipped his head in a moment of grievance for the she-cat's former leader. "I'm sorry to hear that, Halfstar." he meowed. It felt weird rolling off his tongue, the name change. "Volcanicclan grieves with you for your loss. Vanishingstar was a great leader and a respectable warrior." he added, touching his nose to the she-cat's forehead. "You will make a great leader to Wiltingclan in her place." he meowed reassuringly, pulling away to show a pair of sparkling pale green eyes. "Your courage and faith in Starclan will see to it." he added, smiling tentatively. "You don't have to explain now, I wouldn't want to put you through pain more than once. The others will want to know what happened." the tabby tom meowed, tail curling around his paws. He had only been leader for a little less than two moons, but already he felt that he had grown older, more mature. And that he knew what to say, and how to respond to these kind of situations. It was different; but he didn't mind it.

"Hm...no. No, not really at all." Was Translucentstar's simple reply to the VolcanicClan leader's question, which she gave after a rather long pause, all the while keeping her light-violet eyes focused on Thornstar almost as if trying to intimidate him. The pale tortoiseshell was lying, of course, but that didn't really matter - if StarClan did not think Thornstar would make a good leader, they would not have granted his nine lives - he shouldn't have to ask for advice. Above all, he should not be making himself look weak, especially during this time where it seemed everything that could go wrong, was starting to. Turning away, the she-cat noticed a slight shift in the breeze and quickly caught the strong scent of WiltingClan, just as they began to pour into the clearing. Finally - they could get the gathering started. But after a few moments, Translucentstar noticed that it was not Vanishingstar padding over to take her place on the Four Stones, but the deputy Halfmoon. That was odd. Instead of interrogating the deputy, though, the TropicalClan leader let Thornstar do the talking; when the fate of Vanishingstar was revealed, she was very surprised. It was never known that the she-cat was low on lives - or even that she had lost any yet, as her clan seemed to be staying out of trouble lately. "It's a shame." She thought out-loud, staring up at the stars. "About Vanishingstar, I mean..." Now two out of the remaining three clans had new, inexperienced leaders and would be very prone to Silenced Echoes attacks. Translucentstar suddenly felt very grateful that TropicalClan was almost half the forest away from that evil clan.

Halfstar couldn't help it; she was surprised at Translucentstar's response to her terrible news. The she-cat seemed hardly caring, and she continued to act as if nothing had changed. In some ways Halfstar was offended, yet in others, she felt deep respect. One could only truly be focused on the hard task of leadership if all emotions were in check, and it seemed as if Translucentstar had indeed mastered this feat. She was more pleased with Thornstar's warm reaction, and she knew his words rang true. The touch of sympathy brought new hope to her, and she was fully aware that with StarClan guiding each and every one of her pawsteps she could never stray from the right path. "Thank you both for the sympathy," she murmered quietly, "it means a lot to know that I have others to support me. I'm sure you remember how hard it was to become clan leader." She chuckled lightly, the moonlight dancing off of her pale green eyes as she glanced at the other two. And I always have you to guide me, Vanishingstar, she thought to herself, looking upwards to where she knew the former leader now ran free with her warrior ancestors. "So, are we to begin?" she asked, shuffling her paws. Halfstar was eager to get this hectic night over with, and nothing would be more pleasing to her than a nights sleep in her new den.

Nodding curtly in response to the order given, Adderfang watched silently as Translucentstar departed from his side, as he did from hers. Two moons had passed since he had been given the rank of deputy in a time of turmoil. Still, even as he wished a temporary good bye to the TropicalClan leader, an overhanging awkwardness still clung to the tips of his fur. She was no Risingstar. "Give yourself time, you will grow to like her."; wise words spoken not so long ago by the FernClan leader himself in response to his feelings. It paid him a constant reminder to try and compensate with working next to Translucentstar like he had with Risingstar. Adderfang was trying, but it was hard.
Looking around to notice Risingstar no where in the vicinity, out of the corner of his eye he caught the familiar glimmer of Tearwhisper's pelt, immediately turning. When he was able to fully view his clanmate, the sight of her caused him to grow cold, losing his train of thought when he sighted her.. Under the glimmer of the full moon she looked absolutely stunning, like a purifying crystal that was forbidden to touch. Dumbfounded moments turned to minutes as he found himself awestruck, but with the number of cats increasing he picked up his pace, heading straight in her direction. It had honestly been a while since they got to stir up a good conversation, and Adderfang was eager to hear what the she-cat had been up to lately. "Tearwhisper, hey! It's good to see you." the tom mewed, his heart thumping a little faster as he drew closer to her position. "How have you been?"
-x-
Walking forward was no easy task. When Thornstar departed from Riggedblade's side, it took more then just trotting up next to him to regain her normal spot. "Momma, I don't know about this." These words made her head turn, eyes moving to rest upon the small calico apprentice who had added weight into Birchleaf's steps. "It's safe Lotuspaw, I assure you. You get to meet new friends. It's not as scary as it looks." Purring lightly to accent her motherly tone of voice, the warrior couldn't help but smile at her daughter's display of shyness. It reminded her of her own apprentice days. "But mom..." Lotuspaw looked nervously at her surroundings, clinging to her mother's side. "Its okay, were all friends he-" the sound of Meadowbreeze's voice cut off her own, Birchleaf smiling warmly to welcome the company. Maybe she could get Lotuspaw to come out of her shell a little.
"I-I-I-I..." losing control of her speech, Lotuspaw moved closer to Birchleaf, eyes wide. Watching her daughter recede back into her protection with a small smile, her eyes became distant at the mention of FallsClan, sorrow tugging at her heart. It had been a sore spot in her heart, a wound that never healed. In their greatest time of need, Birchleaf could not help out, only run and hide. A saddened sigh escaped her lips, her tongue grazing a couple times over Lotuspaw's head to calm her down. "They do not need StarClan, as much as StarClan needs them. We are not whole without their presence. I feel that if they do not return, a fight for their territory will begin. VolcanicClan is strong, but so close to Leaf-bare, we do not need to lose warriors."

Wide eyes gazed up at the round moon as the VolcanicClan cats made their way to the Gathering. The she-cat's paws weren't exactly precise in their steps, but she managed to follow the group well enough. Smoothpaw blinked, bringing her gaze back down to Earth in time to nearly run into Lotuspaw as they climbed the slope. With a muttered apology, the calico cat stared down into the clearing. They were the first to arrive, it seemed. With a shiver of excitement, she bounded downhill, barely managing to keep her paws under her.
As Thornstar took his place on one of the giant rocks, the she-cat paused for a moment, staring around. It wasn't all that daunting at the moment. An older apprentice had informed her that it was always terrifying the first time one attended a Gathering, but at the moment, she shrugged it off. The clearing was large, yes, and the four rocks towered over her, but all in all, it was more exciting than scary. However, as a slight shift in the wind brought new scents, she began to change her mind...Dark green eyes widened further as TropicalClan poured into the clearing, Translucentstar looking quite ominous at their head. As the group split apart, the area felt more crowded, and Smoothpaw instinctively crouched lower, in an attempt to not be noticed. The feeling grew even worse as yet another group of cats appeared silhouetted on the top of the ridge. WiltingClan, she assumed. As she had never known anything about the Clan apart from their borders, she was one of the few cats that didn't see Vanishingstar's absence as strange. Blinking, the apprentice stared around in attempt to find someone -- anyone she knew. It was without success, however; she had never really met any cats from the other Clans, and Pallidstrike hadn't been chosen to come to this Gathering...With a shiver, one different from her original thrill of excitement, the small she-cat attempted to make herself comfortable, fur fluffed out against the chilled breeze. So maybe the other apprentice hadn't been lying...

After the Tropicalclan cats had poured into the clearing, Raintail found herself alone hear the base of a large oak tree, tail curling around her forepaws in attempt to look more occupied. Blue pools sparkling, the gray tabby noticed a small wad of moss that sat just beside her paws. Scooping it up, the she-cat flung it towards her other paw, and watched amusedly as it when back and forth between her paws. Scooping it up, the she-cat missed it with her left forepaw, and it went spiraling towards an orange tabby, and softly dropping to the ground after making contact with the tom's shoulder. Realizing that it was Firestorm, one of her clanmates, the she-cat padded quickly over to the tom. "Sorry, Firestorm. That was an accident." she apologized sheepishly, ears pinned to her skull. "I was just getting a little bored waiting for the other clans." she added, blue pools glimmering.
Thornstar nodded his head. "Of course." he meowed, tail curling. Chuckling slightly at Halfstar's last comment, the tom's whiskers quivered with slight unease. "I do remember, it was only two moons ago. Volcanicclan is still grieving for Fadedstar." he reminded her, the brightness of his gaze dimming to a soft glow. When she had thanked the two leaders for their sympathy and support, the brown tabby nodded his head. "In the meantime, I know that your clan will thrive under your care, Halfstar. Just remember that Vanishingstar will be waiting to greet you in Starclan whenever you share tongues with them." he pointed out, smiling tentatively once more. Thornstar was about to reply with a soft 'No' when she had asked if they should begin, but the smaller tom winced as he remembered that Fallsclan was not attending, yet another gathering. Glancing up towards the moon, he silently noted that a small cloud covered most of the light that shone down from Silverpelt. "I suppose we could wait for the noise to die down, do you mind?" he asked politely, grinning in embarrassment.
Meadowbreeze smiled sheepishly as the small apprentice shrunk back towards her mother. Lifting her head to reveal pale lavender-blue eyes, the bengal tabby nodded. "You speak the truth, Birchleaf. You certainly have a way with words." she added more cheerfully, tail curling. A moment of silence passed before Meadowbreeze glanced back down at Lotuspaw, who seemed more afraid of the gathering than any apprentice Meadowbreeze had seen before. "Lotuspaw, it's really not too bad. You can learn so much here, probably more than you could from Thornstar himself." she cooed, whiskers twitching. Raising her head to glance around, the bengal she-cat tipped her head to the side, towards where Adderfang stood. "See that cat? That's Adderfang, Tropicalclan's deputy. Wouldn't you like to meet him and see what he's like? He acts pretty tough, but any Volcanicclan cat could whoop him in a fight." she purred humorously, winking at the small apprentice. "Come along, I'll come with you, if you'd like." she added, excitement brimming her eyes.
Ashenfur slunk in quietly after the Tropicalclan cats, tail trailing behind him against the forest floor. The dark gray tom glanced around slowly at the group of cats that had accumulated; so far, it was only Volcanicclan that had arrived besides the Tropicalclan cats. Not feeling up to talking to any warriors, the gray tom spotted Smoothpaw, a Volcanicclan apprentice, and padded up quietly to her. "Hey, Smoothpaw. Do you mind if I uh, talk to you?" he asked awkwardly, yellow eyes evading her gaze. The tom had been in Tropicalclan for six moons now, but homesickness had set in long ago, and the tom had changed since his home in Fallsclan. He was stronger, spiritually, but his social methods remained about the same. "Sorry if I'm bothering you, by the way." he added, alarm flashing breifly in his honey-colored pools.

"Hm...'Hi, Raintail! How's the weather?' Wait, no, what kind of stupid question is that? I already know how the weather is. Duh, Firestorm. What about 'Hey Raintail, is this your first-- no, of course it's not her first gathering. We were here when we were both apprentices. Maybe I should stick with something simple. 'Hey, what's up?' Yeah, play it cool." The fiery TropicalClan warrior murmured quietly to himself as he padded through the clearing, obviously taking his time. The tom had watched Raintail walk off to sit by herself near the far side of the gathering place, and he wanted desperatly to speak to her, but couldn't think of the right words to say. "Just walk up to her. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? If you don't do it now, you won't get the chance," He mewed, trying to trick himself; he began moving toward the pretty silver she-cat, stopping and pacing back back and forth as if he had changed his mind, all the while trying to be subtle and not draw attention. "No, just do it - by the time she says 'Hi', you'll know what to say, rig--" The tom stopped in his tracks as a wad of moss bounced off his shoulder, taking him by surprise and leaving a few traces of the mushy green plant clinging to his pelt. By the time he realized Raintail had tossed it, she was standing next to him. His fur suddenly felt hot. "Oh! Hey Raintail - it's no problem." This time, the ginger warrior's voice was clear and confident, but it had come out sounding as if he were going to continue speaking. Instead, his forest-green eyes seemed to wander up and down the she-cat for a few moments, before Firestorm realized no one was talking and snapped his gaze back in place. "OH. Uhh...How's the weather? I mean...what?" Struggling to think of something smart to say, Firestorm snapped his head around and noticed that the other two Clans were arriving, one after another. "Hey, I guess the gathering'll start soon. Thats cool..."

Raintail blinked as the tom accepted her quick apology, then remained silent for a few heartbeats. When he finally continued, Raintail couldn't help but to giggle at the orange-banded tom. "Firestorm, whatever are you talking about? You speak in such a hurry that I can hardly understand you." she purred, amused. Tail curling, the silver-gray she-cat nodded as he commented on Wiltingclan's arrival. "Yeah, I guess so, huh. It's too bad that Fallsclan can't be here with us though. I'd never thought I'd say this, but I'm starting to miss that group of watercats." she sighed, sitting down in front of the tom. Glancing around the moonlit clearing, the gray she-cat watched as Ashenfur stood alone among the group of Tropicalclan cats that had arrived with them. "Poor Ashenfur, I bet he misses his clan." she meowed sympathetically. "Carkpaw, too. I feel bad. They were trying to help their clan, but it was too late." she added. Shaking her head, the she-cat cleared away the though and turned her attention back to Firestorm. Lifting a paw to her pallid gray maw, the young warrior glanced up at Firestorm with bright blue pools. "So, How have you been? We never really talk, you know." she pointed out, running a small pink tongue over a slender forepaw before bringing it over her ears.

Words were shut out, her maw closed. She looked to her mother to speak for her, her eyes shinning with a shy refusal to seeing Adderfang. Lotuspaw was quite nervous already without Talonpaw at her side, going with someone else who she hadn't even met made her even more afraid. "I think that would be a wonderful idea, I'm sure Mr. Adderfang would love to meet you." Birchleaf purred, causing the apprentice to grow cold. "M-M-Momma...I-I..." she couldn't refuse, her mouth tremoring. "Go on," the mother scooped up Lotuspaw, placing her infront of Meadowbreeze "its good to make friends." Trapped, Lotuspaw looked from Meadowbreeze to Birchleaf then back again. She was nervous, and Talonpaw... Birchleaf nuzzled her softly forward, purring all the while. More then ever the warrior knew how hard it was to be really shy, and make new friends. She couldn't count how long it took for her to get a word out to Riggedblade when they were apprentices. "Come on, I'll go with you. But you have to stay infront." Gazing at her mother, Lotuspaw decided to give in to their constant nagging, nervous but not willing to fight for it. Edging forward only slightly at first, she padded to the in-between- the middle of the two warriors. There she stopped, watching for her mother to follow behind while Meadowbreeze lead the way.

Startled, the apprentice looked up, hastily standing up a bit straighter. She certainly hadn't expected this...Quickly drawing in the tom's scent, she was a bit puzzled. He was with the TropicalClan cats, but the smell of FallsClan was still most prominent. If the stories the warriors at camp had told were true, this would either be Carkpaw or Ashenfur...Judging by the obvious grey coat, she settled on the latter. "Sure...Ashenfur, right?" she mewed, happy that she managed not to stumble over her words. "No, I don't mind. Not like I'm lining up to speak to any other cats." Alright, so this wasn't so hard. It wasn't too different from talking to a cat from her own Clan that she didn't know too well. The tom looked to be considerably older than her...but, she reasoned, so did Pallidstrike. Shaking her head slightly to clear it of the runaway thoughts, Smoothpaw managed a grin. The warrior looked even more nervous that she had been. With a quick attempt at a conversation, she asked "So, how's TropicalClan been doing? Seems everyone has enough food these days, even with leafbare close."

Meadowbreeze's smile stretched joyfully. "Great! He really is an interesting fellow, I hope he's not too busy right now." she added, prancing forward with light, bouncy steps. The bengal tabby's pelt shimmered in the waking moonlight, muscles rippling beneath her pelt as she padded forwards, obvious confidence and happiness visible in her step. Turning back to make sure that Lotuspaw was following, along with her mother, Meadowbreeze smiled upon finding they were. Once she had just nearly reached the tom, Meadowbreeze let out a loud purr of welcome. "Adderfang! Hey, sorry if I'm interrupting anything," she quickly apologized, glancing at Tearwhisper. When Lotuspaw and Birchleaf had reached her side, the she-cat nodded towards them. "This is Lotuspaw! Birchleaf's kit. This is her first gathering, and me and I was just telling her about you and your quick-thinking and strength." She lied evenly, tail curling as she smiled at the tom. "She wanted to meet you." this, too, was a lie, but it would seem more polite than stating that she had said that Lotuspaw herself could defeat him battle, and that she had, in fact, not wanted to meet him.
Ashenfur nodded, averting her gaze yet again. "Yeah, that's me." he confirmed quietly, paws shuffling. When she had commented that she wasn't really going to speak to anyone else, the pallid gray tom swallowed. "Oh, sorry. Yeah, me neither." he meowed, smiling tentatively. He couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic, or if she was serious about not talking to anyone else. "Cats look at me different now, since I'm not Tropicalclan blood. Not to mention, I miss my family and the sound of the falls." he muttered, honey-golden eyes shimmering. "Well, that's enough about me. How's it going for you? How's Volcanicclan?" he asked, showing mild curiosity as he looked up to face her. "You guys are one of the smallest clans, right? But you're strong, so you might as well have as many cats as Wiltingclan.." he noted shyly, ears flicking as a small leaf spiraled down onto his ear.

Halfstar smiled at Thornstar's words, absorbing the praise eagerly. Though she was slightly dissapointed that they couldn't start yet, she decided to dismiss it with a quiet chuckle, leaning down to run her tongue across her silver-hued chest fur. "Yes, we may as well let them talk for a bit. It is always good to catch up with old friends while you can." As she said that, she tried to think of small talk, but really couldn't come up with much. It always seemed like clan leaders had a much harder time with casual discussions; always trying to make their clan sound like the best, all the while covering up their weaknesses... In the end, all she could come up with was a pitiful, "So, how is prey running?"
Hearing her name called, Tearwhisper turned, her ears pricked to pinpoint the source of the familiar voice. "Adderfang..." she smiled kindly, her heart beating faster than a rabbit's pounding feet. Stepping forward to meet the tom, she leaned forward and pressed her nose to his tabby striped cheek, purring. With a broad smile on her face she leaned back, sitting down and wrapping her slender silver tail across her paws. "I've been good. How about you, deputy?" She chuckled, her fur ruffling slightly in embarrassment.
Mosquitobreeze ran forward, trying to keep up with her clanmates' eager steps as they entered the clearing around Four Stones. "Great StarClan, Halfstar is in a hurry," she laughed aloud, turning to smile at her friend Cameostrike. As she hurried to catch up, she nearly bumped into Wildstreak, and she mumbled an apology as she came to a stop, glad to be arrived. Glancing around, she noticed a group of VolcanicClan cats and decided to stop by to say hello. She loved gatherings and getting to talk to the other clan cats. "Come on Cameostrike, lets go see these VolcanicClan cats. I think I see Meadowbreeze." Trotting forward daintily, she waved with her tail, coming to a stop in front of Meadowbreeze. "Hey Meadowbreeze! How's life in VolcanicClan?"

While Halfstar commented on how good it was to catch up, Thornstar simply nodded his head and surveyed the scene. The Volcanicclan cats all seemed occupied- Meadowbreeze with Lotuspaw and Birchleaf were headed towards the Tropiccaln deputy, Adderfang; While Smoothpaw was making conversation with Ashenfur near the edge of the clearing. The other cats were either busying themselves looking for someone to talk to- Or perhaps they were waiting on something. For the gathering to start? Perhaps. Or maybe they're waiting to see if Fallsclan will arrive. thought silently, ears swiveling for any trace of the missing cats. There were none to be found. Halfstar broke through his thoughts with a simple question, and he was thankful. "Oh, it's great. We've been using Fallsclan's territory.." he meowed, letting the words trail off as he cast his eyes over Ashenfur again. "How about yourself?" he questioned the she-cat, turning his attention away from the former Fallsclan tom to Halfstar. "Excuse me," he began, turning to Translucentstar, "But it's Ashenfur who's from Fallsclan, correct? Just curious." he asked, trying to make conversation. "How's he getting along in your clan? Does he like it okay?" he added curiously, searching the she-cat's face for answers.

Firestorm shuffled his paws in embarrassment when the silver she-cat giggled at him, though he quickly got over it as she began to speak. He was beginning to calm down - Raintail always seemed to have something to say, which made talking to her easier, otherwise he would probably be babbling about the weather again. "Sorry..." The tom murmured, whiskers quivering slightly as he glanced around the clearing, the scents of the other clans washing over him. All except for FallsClan, that is. "Yeah, I don't know what I'd do if TropicalClan had to leave while I was in another territory trying to get help. I hope they don't blame themselves - I doubt a patrol of cats could have helped much after all of that. I think Silenced Echoes is getting stronger." The tom agreed quietly, taking Raintail's lead and sitting down beside her as well. The way he spoke didn't sound quite as sympathetic as her, but he did feel sorry for the two apprentices that were living with TropicalClan; he was just focusing on talking to the silvery she-cat, and trying not to sound or look like a mouse-brain. It didn't even seem strange that the two clanmates were speaking to eachother, instead of with the other clan cats like everyone else was. "I know, it's weird 'cause we go on patrols all the time together and you sleep next to me in the warriors de-- I mean, at least, I think you do. Uh...I'm fine, by the way. What about you?"
Hmph. The tortoiseshell leader thought, her oddly-colored eyes narrowed as she glanced at Thornstar. The three perched atop the Four Stones held the most authority in the gathering - if they wanted silence, they surely did not have to wait for it. Despite the way she felt about this, though, Translucentstar didn't object to waiting - Thornstar and Halfstar were young, as far as being leaders, and she did understand that they were grieving for FallsClan. Perhaps even thinking, hoping that they might pop up any minute, as healthy as ever as if nothing had happened. "That's correct, and he's doing as well as can be expected." The she-cat mewed, surprised that Thornstar had decided to strike up a conversation with her, though her face hid that fact. "I don't expect he likes TropicalClan much, but he and Carkpaw seem to be adjusting." she added, turning away from the brown tabby and searching the crowd for Ashenfur, who didn't seem to be having that tough of a time - Translucentstar had expected the other cats his age would try swarming him with questions about FallsClans disappearance. Young cats always seemed so curious, especially when it wasn't any of their business.

Raintail giggled once more as he apologized to her, seemingly disappointed in himself. "Firestorm, it's not a problem. I like it about you, it's unique." she purred humorously, tail curling. The silver she-cat turned to the tom, grinning a wide grin. "That's a good point. They were doing their best, I'll have to ask him how he's doing after the gathering, don't let me forget!" she meowed determinedly, blue pools glittering. As the tom pointed out how close they'd been without them even noticing, -- well, Raintail didn't notice-- Raintail allowed herself a moment to think. Dismissing the last part of his statement, the she-cat nodded. "You're right, we'll definitely have to chat more. I've enjoyed this little conversation." she mewed cheerfully, blinking as a smile spread across her maw. "That's great! Glad to hear you're doing well." she began, whiskers quivering joyfully. "I'm doing alright, could be better, but you know how it goes. I could definitely stand a little more fun, you know?" she purred, tail swaying.
Thornstar nodded his head. "I see." he replied simply, tail curling around his paws. "He seems a little..Quiet." he noted, watching the gray tabby as Smoothpaw did more talking than he did. "Unless us Volcanicclan cats are just a bit chatty." he added humorously, chuckling. "I suppose we should start the gathering in a few more moments, we can't wait for everyone to finish with their stories." he meowed, standing up to stretch his forepaws.

((Heh, made me chuckle Pou. He looked up at her? x3 Unless he's like lying down, I think it would be the other way around. Smoothpaw is pretty little.)) With a inward chuckle at the tom's uncertainty, the apprentice realized that he was even more uncomfortable here than she was...or had been. Once she got talking, everything seemed a whole lot less intimidating. As he mentioned his own Clan, however, she nearly winced. She had been hoping to keep away from that particular topic, knowing it would lead to awkward pauses in which she wouldn't know whether to attempt something comforting or sympathetic. He quickly moved on though, obviously aware of this fact, and she relaxed as the topic turned to something she knew about. "We're doing well, like Thornstar pointedly told everyone to say," she purred. "I don't know what he's so worried about. Every Clan is strong these days, it's not like we're going to suddenly turn on each other..." At the mention of her's being a small Clan, she nodded in agreement, glancing around quickly to pinpoint her Clanmates. There were as many of them as there were from the other Clans, but it was a bigger amount in regards to their entire Clan. "Yeah...we're pretty small, I guess. I haven't exactly seen any other Clan, so I'm not one to judge on that, but from what I've heard...It may have something to do with the territory. There's just not enough prey to feed a really large Clan." She shrugged slightly. "It's not like we're any weaker for it, like you say. And with the extra territory, there's plenty of food, even for this time of year..." Smoothpaw trailed off, realizing, a bit too late, that she may have picked the wrong thing to say about the tom's old territory. Apparently deeply interested in her paws, she brought her gaze to the ground. "We're doin' good..." the she-cat finished lamely.

- He was looking at the ground. xD Post coming O:
+ Ashenfur nodded tentatively, tail curling in unease. "It's just like leaders to be cautious.. You never know what could happen.." he pointed out sluggishly. Of course that was true. After all, it had happened to him. And now he was stranded here without family and hardly a friend in the forest. The tom nodded in agreement as she went on about Volcanicclan's territory. It made sense, and a smaller group of cats to feed was probably healthier. He winced as she mentioned the 'extra' stretch of territory. It wasn't really 'extra,' if you thought about it. It was just... Uninhabited. Shrugging lightly, the tom stretched nonchalantly, trying to hide that fact that he was a little more than touchy about the subject. "Well, I'm glad to hear Volcanicclan is doing well. Sorry for being so formal," he apologized, ears pricked. "So, how are you, you know, as yourself. How many moons are you? Sorry if I'm bothering you, by the way." he added glumly, whiskers twitching.

Smoothpaw allowed a chuckle. He was the one being formal? In reality, this was the first time she had a real conversation with anyone outside of her Clan. Shaking her head, she looked up again. "Nah, I don't mind talking...which is weird, because I usually do." Pausing for a moment to ponder this, she shrugged. "I'm alright. Not many exciting events these days, but sometimes that's a good thing, I guess..." The she-cat was a bit startled by him questioning her age; it was a bit odd, considering she hardly knew the tom, but if it kept the conversation going, she didn't mind. "I'm almost eleven moons, now...I think." She purred, adding, "I guess only my mother would know for certain, but it's close enough. A lot of the other apprentices were made warriors just a while ago, but I was held back a bit. Dislocated my shoulder when I...well, fell off a rock." She grinned, remembering how frantic some cats had been, and how unconcerned she was as they carried her back to the camp. It had just been a fall. Hazelflower had fixed her up in no time, she had never understood why everyone was so worried. "I had to stay in the medicine den for a while...kinda set me back on training, but I should get my name soon." The apprentice grinned up at Ashenfur, slightly pleased with herself. She was talking coherently, which was pretty much a breakthrough for her. She hardly knew this cat, but even with him being so shy, he was as easy to talk to as Pallidstrike. "But I can babble on for hours if you let me," she purred. "What about you?" She paused for a moment before deciding to take a small chance. "You and Carkpaw could be a lot better, I suppose, but...how are you doing?"

Ashenfur smiled sheepishly. "That's alright, I don't usually talk a lot either. I've always been shy." he added, yellow eyes gleaming. "That's true; after awhile you get a little tired of excitement." the tom reflected, chuckling slightly. "Eleven moons? So you're almost a warrior. I'm sorry to hear about the setback, Smoothpaw. I know I've had my own." he added a little humorously, whiskers twitching. When she had asked about how he was doing, the tom needed a moment to reflect. "Yes, It is true that me and Carkpaw have had troubles adjusting to Tropicalclan. Carkpaw must feel very different than I, though. He was just regaining his memory when all this happened, I feel terrible." Noticing how awkward it must be for her to sit and listen to the tom's wails and woes, he changed the subject. "But other than that, we're adjusting fine. Translucentstar is very.. Serious, but we appreciate the home either way." he added, straightening his posture. At first, it seemed almost awkward to talk to the Volcanicclan apprentice, but she didn't pry him with questions, even appeared to prefer staying off the Fallsclan subject. It made him feel a little more at ease.

Glad that the slightly awkward air seemed to be dissipating, she shrugged nonchalantly. "It's no big deal, really. I like training. It's just a bit odd to have to remember all the other cat's new names." As Ashenfur went on to mention Carkpaw again, the she-cat's eyes widened. "He...lost his memory?" she breathed. "How in StarClan did that happen? I didn't even know that was possible..." Smoothpaw glanced up at the rocks, spotting the tall form of Translucentstar on one of the taller stones. "She seems quite...solemn," the apprentice agreed. "I guess all leaders have to be serious sometimes, but it doesn't hurt to crack a smile sometimes. Thornstar just wants to keep up his reputation, I guess. He can take a joke back home...depending on the joke, of course. No one appreciates good jokes anymore," she sighed over dramatically. "It's like even the kits are supposed to be serious these days."
